About Us

Executive Summary

The Fundación para la Conservación de los Recursos Naturales y Ambiente en Guatemala (FCG), was created on the 27 of March of 2000 as a private non-governmental, non-profit, non-politically affiliated organization with conservational, ecological, scientific, educational, technological and cultural purposes, as well as a legal personality and capacity to acquire rights, assume obligations in order to comply with the necessary activities for the achievement of its goals.

Since its creation in 2000, FCG’s main purpose has been to become a financial mechanism that enables the management and administration of funds for the conservation of biodiversity and the environment in the country.  Since then, from its authorisation to operate, FCG has been accumulating 15 years of succesful experience in the management of funds for third parties.

Vision

We envision Guatemala as a country where conservation and sustainable management of natural and cultural heritage are integral part of the development model, to ensure the well-being of present and future generations, on which FCG contributes and is widely recognized for excellence in management, administration, funding and monitoring initiatives, resources and investments.

Mission

We are an organization that supports initiatives of conservation and sustainable development of the natural and sociocultural heritage in Guatemala and the region, providing an efficient and transparent management of financial resources and technical assistance to partner organizations.

General Objective

Promote biodiversity conservation, the sustainable use of natural resources, environmental management, sustainable development and the adaptation to climate change, through the implementation and stable generation of funds, services and projects administration, offer and implementation of specialized services in the environment sector, projects funding, as well as the administration of environmental projects.
